This bronze bust, unveiled on 29 October 2011, stands on a tall monolithic granite pillar on Atatürk Street. The monument is created by a sculptor Metin Yurdanur and is one of the strongest symbols of Azerbaijani–Turkish friendship in the city. On 10 November every year, the official remembrance ceremonies take place at this very spot.
This monument stands in Dədə Qorqud Square on Heydər Əliyev Avenue and was erected to celebrate the 1300th anniversary of the “Book of Dede Korkut” in 1999. The 5.3-meter figure of Dede Korkut, kneeling with a kopuz in hand, is an embodiment of deep-rooted oral traditions in the Turkic world, designed by sculptor Elman Cəfərov. Standing not far from the historic Ismayılkhan Bath, its location adds to the cultural atmosphere of the square.
Situated at Köroğlu Square along the shores of the Nakhchivan River, this dynamic statue represents the legendary folk hero Köroğlu on horseback.
