This bronze bust, unveiled on 29 October 2011, stands on a tall monolithic granite pillar on Atatürk Street. The monument is created by a sculptor Metin Yurdanur and is one of the strongest symbols of Azerbaijani–Turkish friendship in the city. On 10 November every year, the official remembrance ceremonies take place at this very spot.

This monument stands in Dədə Qorqud Square on Heydər Əliyev Avenue and was erected to celebrate the 1300th anniversary of the “Book of Dede Korkut” in 1999. The 5.3-meter figure of Dede Korkut, kneeling with a kopuz in hand, is an embodiment of deep-rooted oral traditions in the Turkic world, designed by sculptor Elman Cəfərov. Standing not far from the historic Ismayılkhan Bath, its location adds to the cultural atmosphere of the square.

Situated at Köroğlu Square along the shores of the Nakhchivan River, this dynamic statue represents the legendary folk hero Köroğlu on horseback. Sculpted by Hüseynqulu Əliyev, it was erected in 1988 and gained renewed prominence after the square’s redesign in 2008. The riverside placement adds to the sense of motion and strength in the composition.

Standing proudly in Babək Square, right across from the city’s railway station, this monument is dedicated to the iconic freedom fighter Babak Khorramdin. Designed by Elman Cəfərov in 1988, the statue exudes courage and resilience through a powerful stance which symbolizes the historic struggle for independence. The wide-open square is especially photogenic during sunset.

Behruz Kengerli is one of Nakhchivan’s most famous artists, and he has been rewarded with his museum and Painters’ Park right in the heart of the city. The museum, opened on May 22, 2001, incorporates more than 1,300 works: original paintings and archival materials. Its location at the intersection of Atatürk and Istiklal Avenues makes it an essential stop for visitors exploring the city’s artistic side.
