ou start by inhaling the cool air at the foot of Duzdağ and, with your first step, enter the subterranean serenity redolent of salt. The crystalline texture of the cave refracts light differently, and layers on the walls seem to be a silent story that has been going on for thousands of years. Here, time is slower, and your attention is focused only on the present moment.

Time spent in the salt chambers of this cave creates a feeling of lightness, especially in one’s breathing. The salty air, the silence, and the dimly lit atmosphere create a feeling of relaxation in the body and a calming mind. This section offers a relaxing experience that will nourish your curiosity and feed your spirit.

The second route goes to Ashab-ı Kehf, the place of Ashab-ı Kehf, home to the story of the “Seven Sleepers,” a place that symbolizes the common memory of various faiths. Your guide relates the theme of waking from sleep to patience and hope, and you gain further insight into the symbolic meaning of the area you are in. This is not only a historic stop but also a place that invites reflection.

While strolling down the pathways, you’ll feel the coolness of the stone in your hands and the softness of the breeze in your ears. As the day wears on, with its stretching shadows, the surrounding details become more apparent; during brief breaks, the smooth rhythm of the landscape almost slows your heartbeat. During this trip, you will shoot not only photographs but also feel that you record the moment from within.

Your stay at Duzdağ Hotel continues in thermal comfort. The relaxing effects of the hot water, the spacious rooms, and the meals prepared with local flavors wash off the day’s fatigue. Relaxation deepens with Turkish bath and sauna rituals in the spa, while the flow of time slows down in the quiet relaxation areas. When you lift your head up to the sky in this spot with low light pollution, the clear lines of the Milky Way present a simple yet impressive celestial experience.

Your next stop will be the Nehram Imamzadeh Mausoleum. Its elegant stone carvings, architectural details, and the overall serenity of the place evoke a sense of quietness within. The detailed work on the building enables you to get connected with the past respectfully. At the end of the program, while going back to the city center, you take back with you not just the places visited but also a fresh breath and a softened inner world.

FAQ

Who is this tour suitable for?

Designed for those who want to experience a combination of leisurely nature walks, cave visits, thermal spa retreats, and cultural exploration. Basic walking fitness is sufficient; there are no high altitude or challenging trails.

I have asthma or allergies. Are cave and salt therapy suitable for me?

Salt rooms can help relieve respiratory distress, but your personal health is paramount. If you take regular medications, we ask that you bring them with you and inform us before your session. If necessary, we will shorten the session or move you to an alternative rest area.

What should I bring?

Comfortable walking shoes, a light cardigan (the cave is cool), a water bottle, personal medications, and a spare battery for your camera/phone are ideal. Bringing a swimsuit and slippers for the spa will enhance your comfort.

Why is Ashhab-i Kehf important?

It is believed to be the memorial site of the “Seven Sleepers” narrative. Seven young people escaping from the tyrannical ruler of the time slept in this cave for 309 years. They realized they had slept for 309 years when they sent one of their friends to the market to shop. Their faithful dog, Kıtmir (Al-Rakim-Kratim), slept at the cave entrance, protecting the young people. It is believed that they will go to Paradise, and according to belief, God put the young people back to sleep. The cave is characterized by themes of patience, protection, and awakening. During your visit, we will explore these symbolic meanings, traces of the structure, and the surrounding landscape together.

Is the daily schedule busy, and will there be time for rest?

We’ve planned the flow to ensure you don’t feel overwhelmed. The day takes a breather with breaks after the cave, lunch, hotel check-in, and spa time. Dinner and stargazing also proceed at a leisurely pace.

What will I experience during stargazing?

Thanks to low light pollution, you’ll have a clear view of the Milky Way. We provide portable binoculars and a simple star map; we point out the main constellations together. We recommend wearing a light layer for cold weather.

How do you use the spa, Turkish bath, and sauna?

After check-in, we’ll take you to the spa floor at the designated time. A towel and towel set are provided; we recommend the thermal → Turkish bath → sauna sequence. We plan shorter stays for those with health concerns.

Will my food and beverage schedule and special dietary requirements be met?

Dinner and breakfast are included in the tour package. If you have a vegetarian or gluten-free preference, please include it in your reservation note, and the kitchen will prepare accordingly. Water and hot drinks are available throughout the day.

What do you do regarding safety and guidance?

We provide briefings throughout the route; the team has a non-slip floor, a flashlight, and a first aid kit. We conduct a headcount at each stop, adjusting the timetable according to the weather conditions. A plan is in place to access the nearest health center in case of emergency.

What's included in the price, and will I pay extra?

The package includes transportation, professional guidance, cave entry and salt therapy, a one-night stay at the Duzdağ Hotel, spa/hammam/sauna access, dinner, and breakfast. Personal shopping, in-room additional services, and requests outside the menu are considered extra.
