Julfa and the Border Tour-Daily Tour

  • 8 Hours Tour
  • Cable Car Ride
  • lunch
    Tasty Lunch Included

When you reach the Border Panorama, the wind first enters your ears, then your heart. As you walk in the shadow of towering rocks, your gaze is drawn to the sharp horizon against the soft light.

As you read the layers of history on the panels around Julfa, you pick out the distant ruins of the Julfa Bridge. Where the stones fall silent, narratives speak: your guide’s voice anchors the landscape in a calm rhythm.

As you pause at this point, the solemnity of the place speaks to you in measured tones. Your guide knows when to take a photo, and your respect for the rules maintains trust and flow.

As the road turns towards Sirab, the air becomes fresher and a cool breeze accompanies your steps. At the spring, glasses are filled with mineral water, which has metallic and salty notes that create a subtle sensation on the palate, balanced by the second sip.

During your lunch break, the aroma of the barbecue at the Araz restaurant wafts over to your table. The juicy texture of the local grilled food harmonises with fresh herbs and crispy bread, and the plates are cleared away silently while you continue your conversation.

On the way back, the light takes on purple and amber hues and the pace of the road slows. The memory of the stone, the freshness of the water and the gentle guidance linger in your mind as you quietly close the door on the day, content in the knowledge that you have left the final decision on photography to the guide.

At 05:15 PM, we head back to the city. Until 18:30 PM, we finalize the day with gentle music and low-level commentary. At 18:30 PM, we drop you off at the starting point or the address indicated. Before saying goodbye, if you would like to join the next tour, we share a short list of suggestions based on your personal interests.

FAQ

Can I take photos?

You can take photos along the border; however, your guide determines the frame. We kindly ask you to stay within the designated areas and allow for device screen control.

Does the program include hiking, and what are your shoe recommendations?

There are short- to medium-distance, undulating trails. We recommend wearing closed-toe, high-grip walking shoes.

How is the tasting at the Sirab spring conducted?

We provide disposable cups. Your guide will suggest a time interval to allow you to adjust to the flavor profile of the first sip; this will make it easier to compare notes with the second sip.

Is lunch included, and where will we eat?

Meals are not included. We recommend local grills at Araz Restaurant; if you have a vegetarian request, please let us know in advance.

Will the tour be canceled if it's windy?

If there are strong winds or low visibility affecting safety, we may postpone the tour. In such cases, we will inform you early in the morning and offer new date options.

Can we join with children?

Yes, it’s possible. We kindly ask for close monitoring at border points; some surfaces are not suitable for strollers, but a baby carrier would be practical.

Is there a health risk?

We offer a route that doesn’t require high effort. For any health issues, such as circulation, blood pressure, or other special conditions, we ask that you follow your doctor’s recommendations and bring your medications.

What should I bring?

We recommend sunscreen, a hat, a light windproof jacket, a water bottle, and spare batteries/chargers. We also ask that you bring your ID.

How do payment and booking work?

We confirm your booking via a confirmation email. Payment is accepted by cash or card on the morning of the tour; we will prepare your invoice upon departure.

How do you proceed in an emergency?

The vehicle is equipped with a first aid kit and a communication device. We ask that you follow your guide’s directions and wait at the meeting point; we will make any necessary calls on behalf of the teams.
