National Foods (Milli Yeməklər) Restaurant

Situated in the city centre and close to the main street that leads to Heydər Əliyev Palace, National Foods is very highly rated on Tripadvisor among the restaurants of Nakhchivan and is truly considered a “home-cooking” restaurant, especially favored by locals.

Food menu

As the name conveys, this is a classic Nakhchivan-Azerbaijan cuisine restaurant:

Charcoal-grilled kebabs: Lülə kebabı, chicken shish kebab, lamb shish kebab and mixed kebab dishes with tomato and pepper.

Pot and stew dishes include lamb stew with potatoes and carrots, meat stews served with rice or lavash.

Classic local dishes: Soups and pastries include bozbash, dushbere, and gürze, while Arzuman köfte and stew-type meat dishes are frequently on the menu, from a general understanding of Nakhchivan cuisine.

Dolma and pilafs: Yarpag dolma (stuffed grape leaves), vegetable pilafs, and buttered “Azerbaijani plov” would be perfect for those seeking a main course option.

Drink menu

Arudu glass tea: Here, taste the regional tea culture with nabat sugar, lemon, and small desserts accompanying it.

Natural mineral water: Local brands like Sirab and Badamlı are the most classic accompaniments to meals.

Komposto: Apricot, sour cherry, or apple compote is a light alternative, especially in the summer months.

Noah’s Landing Restaurant

One of the most striking restaurants in Nakhchivan, Nuh’s Landing, with its intriguing design resembling a pond and a ship, is nestled at the foot of Noah’s Tomb, from where it got its name.

Food Menu

This restaurant is unique in that it offers traditional Nakhchivan cuisine along with seafood on one menu:

Seafood: Available in a wide variety of options including breaded sea bass/sea bream, shrimps, calamari, and cuttlefish with French fries and fresh salad.

Meat dishes: Lamb shish, chicken shish, lülə kebabi, bozbash, and yahni.

Soups: The most preferred ones during winter are warming soups like xaş, dovğa, and broth-based ones.

Dolma & pilaf: Traditional yarpag dolma and buttered pilafs create a balanced combination with heavy meat dishes.

Drink Menu

Fruit compote: Apricot, apple, and cherry/sour cherry compotes are a popular choice, mostly at family tables.

Tea Ceremony: Served in a pear-shaped glass, tea is usually accompanied by different desserts such as pakhalava and shekerbura.
